In a panic, I just searched my blog--oh, good, I haven't used it there. Does this mean I remain in your good graces? (Assuming, of course, that I was there already. I also rarely pedantically correct usage.)

Everyone who comments here is in my good graces! for what they are worth.

I've used "I'm looking at you" lots of times. I hereby hang my head in shame.

Now I feel bad! No one should hang their head.
I am not very good at condemning with conviction.

I'm just kidding about feeling ashamed, but it is good to know what phrases or words other people think are overused. My votes for overused words go to "vagina" and "douchebag," and the phrase "like __ on crack" isn't a favorite of mine either.

I am probably a ludicrously oversensitive canary on stock phrases and vogue words. And yeah, "like an elbow on crack" has expired.

Do I understand what you're condemning here? Something like a cartoon I did in the 80s where one person is saying, "(Dull observation)" and the other one says "(Witty topper!)"?
In other news, I ran into somebody who seems to be in the PHOENIX apa. I thought that had died out in 1980 or so. Did I quit? I... don't... remember!

I... don't know what the PHOENIX apa is!
I remember that cartoon, in fact.
