The Dave Burrell Full-Blown Trio is Burrell (piano), William Parker (bass, kora), and Andrew Cyrille (drums). "About Face" is from their only album*, Expansion (on the label High Two), written by Dave Burrell.

Pleasant, but dissipated into the background for me. Is this trio a high-water mark for each of them?

Oh no; for one thing, all three have extensive discographies, and for another, they all have varied styles. I didn't look for a best of them. Just things that I like.

(Thinking.) I'm not picking a high-water mark with most songs. I like these songs a lot; but I'm going to pick 400 to 450 songs a year. I think it's like my little bit of radio. (Thinking more.) I don't know. To me, as I have got older, I have less confidence about telling people things about music....

I still don't know why I'm doing this. Apart from it's fun. But I've only a vague idea what a "parlando playlist" is. Apart from it's fun.

I'm having fun too! I hope that when I say I don't care for a particular track, that doesn't diminish your enthusiasm for the project.

Geez, I want you to say it honestly.

Back there I was just having a hard time with language (and conceptually).

Cool--that's what I figured.

Honestly: It's really great to be talking with you again. I've missed you.

Thank you. Very much.

I'm choked up. Much complicated to say... Well.

Thank you.
