parlando playlist #28: antipop consortium - splinter [2001]

I thought The Ends Against the Middle was Antipop Consortium's first EP (after their debut album Tragic Epilogue [and also quasi-debut Japan-only album Shopping Carts Crashing], and before their second/third album Arrhythmia), but I see that discogs.com and rateyourmusic.com has an earlier release called Diagonal Ryme Garganchula that looks like an EP. Hmm. Anyway, The Ends Against the Middle features "Splinter".

Parlando Posts stay up only one week. (Don't want artists or record companies complaining.) But any request I will put back up for another week. ("Splinter" is up, in other words.)

Inventive production. But the thing that really grabs me is the first rapper has a very similar vocal timbre to me (not sure if that's my voice on tape or my voice in my head, though).

"Apathetic like a mirror" is a great phrase.

That never occurred to me (the first observation), but listening to it again it makes sense.

There's no reason it should have occurred to you--it's just about the most self-absorbed comment I could possibly make.
