....but it's not a song from Antidote.

Liquorice was Jenny Toomey (also in Tsunami), Daniel Littleton (also in Ida), Rob Christiansen, and Trey Many. They had one album, Listening Cap, featuring "Keeping the Weekend Free", an cover written by Franklin Bruno* (from Nothing Painted Blue, among others). I admire Bruno's lyrics, so, here:

*years later Toomey did a whole album of Bruno covers, Tempting. It was marvelous.

That it is. I don't know if I heard this track before, or if I heard a different version, or if it just feels like an ancient lullaby, but it's lovely.

Franklin Bruno also was one half of the Extra Glenns (or the Extra Lens, apparently), which you probably know, having introduced me to John Darnielle.
