From the 1981 various artists cassette compilation NME / Rough Trade C81, included with an NME magazine. In 1982 "Born Again Cretin" was sold to everybody on the Robert Wyatt compilation Nothing Can Stop Us.

Man, that sounds nothing like Meat Loaf!

I know very little about Wyatt and Soft Machine--what do you recommend as an entry point?

Actually, I don't know much Soft Machine; what I've heard sounds like they're sorta Canterbury-prog, which I like but not sends-me-down-their-path. I should check them out more. I know better Matching Mole, Wyatt's transition band to solo. (Cheerful Canterbury-prog, which laugh-out-loud moments.)

Robert Wyatt's place to start is Rock Bottom, recorded when he recovered after he fell out of a five-story window and broke his spine. It's absolutely beautiful.
