Sure, grief is natural and proper, but it's healthier for the survivors to move on.

"Healthier" than what? And even if that were true, that's right up there with telling depressed people to cheer up, and someone with pneumonia that it would be healthier for them not to have that infection.

Why, healthier than fooling around with despair and misery. If you can't see that choosing a life of bliss (or at least a life of contentment) over a life of anguish (though a life of melancholy can lead to success in the arts), I don't know what to tell you. Except grief is perfectly natural and proper and banal and other hackneyed clich├ęd things. {sing:} Move on! Move on! It's healthier to move on!

(I'm looking for things to take my anger out on, I know.)

I'm glad I don't know who said that, because I would want to smack them.

I should allow that it was not a specific conversation, more of a general conversation. In other words, dumb, a cliche-uttering dumbness, but not an advice-offering nitwittery, if you catch my meaning.

Broadcast nitwittery rather than specifically offered. Got it. But still, sheesh.
